Working Group Antidiscrimination

The working group "Antidiscrimination" consists of lecturers and student representatives of the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Cologne. The working group was founded in the course of an anti-racist training of the institute in 2021. As a heterogeneous group we want to work together to fight all forms of discrimination in teaching and learning. We want to create more awareness and sensitivity for experiences of discrimination, advocate for the implementation of structural changes and encourage a critical-reflexive examination of our subject history and its conventions.

In addition to the central offerings of the autonomous BIPoC department (https://bipoc.uni-koeln.de/en/), the Department Gender and Diversity Management (https://gedim.uni-koeln.de/en/about-us), and the Service Center Inclusion (https://inklusion.uni-koeln.de/), our department’s digital "Wish Box" gives students the opportunity to support our work with anonymous suggestions and to shape improvements. We then bring these to the attention of the managing board.
