Buddy Programme

Our Buddy Program aims to bring students from different semesters together and attempts to create an environment where students can make new connections.

The programme is part of the M.A. programme “Culture and Environment in Africa” and the M.A. "Social and Cultural Anthropology", and should especially help international students who recently came to Cologne to link up with more experienced “buddies”.

Therefore, the programme addresses all M.A. students and we also welcome B.A. students from higher semesters to join and become a “buddy” throughout the term.

In summer semester 2024, you are warmly invited to the following events organised as part of the Buddy Programme:

  • 2 May 2024: WDR Lunch Concert (departure 11 am at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology)

  • 29 June 2024: Hiking Trip (further details to be announced)

The Buddy Programme is an exchange platform that allows first-semester students to exchange ideas with senior students and possibly be matched with a 'buddy' who is ready to assist with issues beyond the academic realm.

Besides the networking aspect, we also want create a space for MA students to meet with peers of different study programs and to give you the opportunity to get to know each other.

Please register for the events with either
