Fieldwork Practice

Fieldwork is central to anthropological work. The anthropologist lives together with a group of people over a longer period of time. Through this living together anthropologists gain not only many insights into the "other", but also about themselves and their own cultural and individual imprint.

Fieldwork is a highly dynamic process. It requires a high degree of expertise about the discipline and methods as well as self-reflection and tolerance of ambiguity.

As students at our department you have several opportunities to practice your methodological expertise and collect real fieldwork experience.
