International

The Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology in Cologne is part of an extensive international research network and maintains intensive relations with universities in Africa, Asia and North America.

In the bachelor's and master's programme in Social and Cultural Anthropology, the study abroad is anchored in supplementary module 2. Students have the opportunity to deepen regional interests, acquire language skills and prepare for academic and / or professional work in international contexts.

If you would like to study at one of the partner universities of the department for one or two semesters, you should inform yourself about specific requirements at the individual partner universities (e.g. language skills) at an early stage.

Opportunities at the University of Cologne

In addition to partnerships of the department, the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and the University of Cologne foster relationships with European and non-European universities.

On Faculty Level

The team of the Center for International Relations of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (ZIB Phil Fak) advises students on the choice of a suitable partner university abroad and provides information on financing options for study stays and internships abroad.

On An Interdisciplinary Level

The university partnerships on an interdisciplinary level are managed by the International Office. There, students receive application documents and further information.
